Your Hosts

We are Jason and Natalie Grothause and we’re so excited to be the new owners of Sunset Bluff Resort in Ludington Michigan on Hamlin Lake. We have very big shoes to fill from Ray and Sue Scholtens, who’ve done an amazing job making Sunset Bluff a top vacation destination for 37 years.

We both grew up in Ohio, then met and started dating in 1996. We got married in 2001 and now have 2 teenagers. While Jason ran a handyman business, Natalie’s corporate job took our family on various adventures across the US. We lived in Austin, Texas for 10 years and then Denver, Colorado for a couple years. But something bigger was calling us and we decided to take our family on a completely different adventure.

While living in Ohio, we vacationed many times in Michigan and always loved the beauty Michigan had to offer. Although we looked at multiple vacation properties across Michigan, nothing compared to Sunset Bluff Resort. We knew this was meant to be our forever home that we couldn’t wait share with others.
